by Jakob Ferdinand SCHREIBER publisher (1809-1867) "Der Glodschmied" (the goldsmith) Original lithograph from the collection entitled "30 Werkstätten von Handwerkern. Nebst ihren hauptsächlichsten Werkzeugen und Fabrikaten. " published in Esslingen by Jakob Ferdinand Schreiber around 1860, generally composed of thirty lithographic plates printed in black and then hand-colored in the publisher's laboratories. Nice specimen with good margins, with the trace of the central vertical fold of binding reinforced on the back, slightly burnished and wavy, with traces of dirt and foxing mainly at the edges but overall in a good state of conservation. Rare representation of a goldsmith's workshop with many craftsmen at work in the various phases of creation of the precious artifacts, of particular interest are the images of the tools and final products, pins, rings and earrings. The Schreiber Publishing House was founded in 1831 and had considerable success in the production of children's books and printed information material, its editorial heritage has been preserved in a museum located in the city of Esslingen. Bibliography: Borst "Ein Stück Deutscher Kulturgeschichte - dem Verlag JFSchreiber zum einhundertfünfzigsten Geburtstag" Esslingen 1981. Measurements in mm: 315ca x 400ca the sheet
